Adelaide’s Full Motion Racing Simulator Centre

If you have been searching for a racing simulator near you in Adelaide, this is it. Sim Racing Adelaide is a blacked-out race room in Richmond, five minutes from the CBD, built around four professional full motion racing rigs. Real steering wheels with force feedback, real pedals, seats that move with the car and VR headsets that put you in the cockpit.

Founded by race car driver Ivan Vantagiato, who has spent more than 23 years in motorsport, the centre was built so that anyone in Adelaide can feel what it is like to drive a race car, whether they have raced for years or never sat in one.

What Makes It a Simulator and Not a Game

A racing game is a controller and a couch. A racing simulator is a completely different thing. Here is what is in every seat:

  • Direct drive steering wheel with force feedback, so you feel the front tyres load up, lock and let go
  • Proper racing pedals for braking with feel, not with a button
  • Full motion seat that moves with the car through every kerb, bump and slide
  • VR headset for a true 360 degree cockpit view with real depth and scale
  • Real world laser scanned circuits, so every corner is where it should be

The result is that your body reads the car the way it would on a real track. Real racing drivers use this style of technology to train, learn circuits and stay sharp between race weekends.

Cars and Tracks

Drive everything from Formula 1 cars and GT3 machines to Supercars, Porsche Cup cars, touring cars and rally cars. Take them around Bathurst, The Bend Motorsport Park, Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Silverstone, Suzuka and the Nürburgring. If you have watched it on television, there is a good chance you can drive it here.

No Licence, No Experience, No Problem

You do not need a licence or any experience. Our team sets you up, picks a car that is easy to drive and has you lapping within a couple of laps. Driving assists like ABS, traction control, throttle assist and brake assist are there when you want them and gone when you do not.

For younger racers we even have crowd favourites like Rainbow Road and Thomas the Tank Engine, so kids have a ball while the adults chase lap times.

Race Solo or Go Head to Head

Come on your own and chase a personal best on the leaderboard. Or bring the crew. With four rigs side by side, up to four drivers race wheel to wheel on the same circuit at the same time, with lap times logged so the result is never in doubt. Bigger groups rotate through between races, so everyone gets plenty of seat time. It is why we are a favourite for birthday parties, bucks parties, corporate team building and NDIS activities.
