Drive a Formula 1 Car in Adelaide

Ever watched a Grand Prix and wondered what it actually feels like to thread an F1 car through Eau Rouge or brake from top speed into the first chicane at Monza? At Sim Racing Adelaide you can find out. Our full motion racing simulators put you in a Formula 1 style cockpit on the circuits you know from television, five minutes from the Adelaide CBD.

This is not an arcade cabinet. Each rig runs a direct drive steering wheel, proper racing pedals and a seat that moves with the car. Add a VR headset and you are looking out of the cockpit, down the straight, into the corner. The same style of technology is used by professional drivers to learn tracks before they race them.

What the F1 Simulator Experience Feels Like

Formula 1 cars are the quickest thing you can drive in here. The acceleration is savage, the brakes are brutal and the grip through fast corners feels like nothing you have driven on the road. On the motion rig you feel the kerbs rattle through the seat, the car squirm under braking and the rear step out when you get greedy on the throttle.

Pull on the VR headset and it goes up another level. You turn your head to check the mirror, look through the apex and judge the braking point by eye, exactly as a real driver would. Most first timers are grinning before they reach the end of the first lap.

Famous Circuits, Right Here in Richmond

Pick a track and go. The circuits available include some of the most famous in motorsport:

  • Monza, the Temple of Speed
  • Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix
  • Spa-Francorchamps and the climb through Eau Rouge
  • Suzuka and its figure of eight
  • The Nürburgring
  • Bathurst and The Bend Motorsport Park for a local flavour

Not ready for an F1 car yet? No problem. GT3 machines, Supercars, Porsche Cup cars, touring cars and rally cars are all on the menu, so you can work your way up through the grid.

Never Driven a Simulator? You Will Be Fine

You do not need a racing licence, a gaming background or any idea what an apex is. Our team gets you strapped in, walks you through the wheel and pedals and can switch on driving assists like ABS and traction control while you find your feet. Once you are comfortable, turn them off and chase a real lap time.

Experienced sim racers are welcome too. Bring your own setup knowledge, dial the car in and see where you land on the leaderboard.

Race Your Mates Wheel to Wheel

We run four rigs side by side, so up to four drivers can race head to head on the same track at the same time. Qualify, line up on the grid and settle who is actually the fastest. Lap times are logged, so the bragging rights last long after you leave. It works brilliantly for birthdays, bucks parties and corporate team days.
